New City Cafe To Donate Lunch To KPR Volunteers

TOPEKA, KS March 27, 2004–-"Our goal is to forge positive relationships with the community and to help expand public awareness for both non-profit organizations and New City Café," said Guillén. "Participating in the fundraising drive makes for a good fit since patrons at New City Café who show an appreciation for great food, also tend to show an appreciation for the type of programming offered at Kansas Public Radio" Most public radio stations, which rely heavily on listener donations to help fund their operating budgets, hold on-air pledge drives each spring and fall. KPR will begin its spring on-air fund-raising drive March 27. "The fundraiser is absolutely crucial to our operation. Without the drives, we would be unable to operate. Partnering with New City Café is a good way to show that we have the support of Topeka businesses." said Robin Johnson, Corporate Development Director for Kansas Public Radio. "We appreciate New City Café's deep commitment to their community and to the community of KPR listeners."
