Biscayne Bay Young Republicans to Postpone Hall of Fame Inductions Until November
September 10, 2004 -- The Ronald Reagan Memorial: Biscayne Bay Young Republicans Hall of Fame will be a great opportunity to meet past and present Young Republicans in South Florida. Unfortunately, because of the aftermath of Hurricanes Charley and Frances, and the projection of Ivan, the Biscayne Bay Young Republicans Board has unanimously decided to postpone the Hall of Fame Induction until mid-November. While the damage in South Florida was not as great as in much of the State, over 100,000 people in the tri-county area are still without power, a number of people have been killed, billions of dollars in property damage has occurred, and the loss of planning time by both the organization and the Colonnade Hotel forced us to realize that while we could put on the event in September, the likelihood of the event being to the high standards we set is impossible without a date change. At this time, we prefer that our past and present members contribute time, effort, and money to relief efforts.
Our 6th annual Halloween benefit, which in the past was held for the World War II Memorial, The Reagan Ranch, The Rush III Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, and the victims of 9/11, will be held this year for victims of Florida Hurricanes tentatively scheduled for Saturday Night, October 23rd. For more information on this relief effort, contact our President, Gigi Bolt, at Gigi@jeb.org or 305-321-0324.
Our Hall of Fame Ceremony will be rescheduled for November 10th after the general election. The event will still be held at the Colonnade Hotel on Ponce de Leon Blvd and The Miracle Mile in Coral Gables, FL 33134. For ticket refund, purchase, or group package information, contact Gigi Bolt or Frank Cuzzocrea Jr, BBYR Vice President, at 786-417-1501 or Frankcuzzocrea@Starspath.com. Updates will also be available at our website at www.bbyrc.com and from our info-line at info@bbyrc.com.
We encourage you to donate food, water, and other supplies, time, effort, or money to the hurricane relief efforts.
