Rochester NY Charity Auction

May 19, 2004 -- Later next month, Rochester Internet Trading will host its first charity auction to benefit local charities. Rochester residents will bid on items donated by employees, business partners, customers and local organizations and the proceeds from the auction will be donated to benefit local charities.

Rochester Internet Trading auctions hope to raise a total of $20,000 to benefit local charities and local school districts. This year, RITBay decided to donate to the United Way of Rochester.

"This is a community-driven event and even in these uncertain economic times, our community should look forward to the annual charity auction," said Costa Dedes, president and CEO, RITBay. "We are all grateful for our own good fortune and we're very happy to have the opportunity to help those in need in our local communities."

We are looking for people to donate items of any sort. Items can range from an old computer you may have sitting in the corner to a hand knitted scarf.

We want people to get creative with their items. And have a lot of fun bidding against each other.
