SPUNKY LUCY - STAR OF NEW SERIES FOR GIRLS TACKLES 9-11 WITH A MESSAGE OF HOPE AND CHARITY!!
Dallas, TX— How do you teach children the value of giving to charities? By writing a book about giving and (even better) by demonstrating it by donating part of the proceeds to a charity or cause. Sparklesoup Studios, the publisher of Lucy and The Liberty Quilt will be practicing this with the first book in a series of books for girls from 7 to 14. Sparklesoup Studios will be donating a portion of the net proceeds from this limited first edition to the American Red Cross, and all copies of Lucy and The Liberty Quilt purchased from Sparklesoup.com up to December 20, 2001 will be signed by its author and creator Victoria London.
What is this book about giving? And what is a Gifted Girl? Just ask Lucy Lee or rather, just step into her world as a modern-day spirited and funny 12-year-old girl living in Southern California in the new Millennium. She's like any other 12-year-old girl, with issues of growing up and fitting in, but for one thing—she has an amazing gift that may keep her out of the cool club altogether.
Confused? So is Lucy, as she learns that she is one of the Gifted Girls™, a group of girls around the world from different places and times who receives an extraordinary gift to be used to better the world by helping those around her. Like the other characters in The Gifted Girls™ Series—Emily, Daniella, Rose, and Jackie; Lucy lives in a time of change and challenges where her character is strengthen through adventures and action.
In Lucy and The Liberty Quilt, which takes place in modern day USA, the character Lucy Lee, like everyone else in the world is rocked by the unbelievable bombing event of New York's World Trade Center. Her response to the event and her growth through the tragedy as a child and a Gifted Girl makes this book an inspirational and heart-felt story.
Victoria London, creator and writer of the Gifted Girls™ Series, said that the story of Lucy and The Liberty Quilt, was written a week after the September 11 event. "I was stunned, saddened, and horrified by the event like everyone else. Lucy and The Liberty Quilt, was written as a way to help lift the spirits of the littlest victims of this tragedy, and provide a way to entertain and inspire. All the characters in the Gifted Girls™ Series have this self-esteem-building and inspirational foundation."
Gifted Girls™ is designed to help girls see that everyone has unique talents and gifts that they can bring to the world. Through courage, faith, and adventures of the Gifted Girls™, girls from around the world can see that girls, like themselves, can make a difference in bettering the world with some help from God.
The Gifted Girls™ books and products are currently available this holiday season on Amazon.com and Sparklesoup.com. Sparklesoup Studios, producer of the Gifted Girls™ Series, is dedicated to bringing high-quality products to girls and boys around the world that would instill and enforce positive social and moral values.
